Bilberry

Bilberries are rich in flavonoids that strengthen intra-cellular membranes and collagen. Bilberry is particularly known all over the world for the treatment of eye ailments such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and general eye fatigue and light sensitivity. Bilberries increase retinal pigments that allow the eye to tolerate light. Researchers have found that plant-based anthocyanosides such as are found in Bilberries increase the production of rhodopsin, a pigment in the retina that is involved in the formation of photoreceptor cells. Bilberries strengthen vein structure and are used effectively in the treatment of varicose veins and hemorrhoids. Perhaps it is the strengthening of the tiny blood vessels that feed the eyes that account, at least partially, for Bilberry’s effectiveness in eye health. Bilberries were used by pilots during World War II to improve their night vision.

Bilberries are high in chromium, which is a mineral that is essential to pancreatic health and the stabilization of blood sugar levels. I can find no studies on humans, only animals, that confirm this stabilization of blood sugar levels, but the presence of chromium certainly indicates that it would be excellent for people, too. Studies are running but have not been running long enough for “medical” verification purposes. Bilberries are helpful in rebuilding the liver after cleansing.

Sulfur

Notably present in skin, hair and nails as well as all body cells, including brain, nerves, bowel and liver. Sulfur moves toxins out of cells by agitation. Muscle, bone and joint comfort is related to sulfur status. It is important in enzyme activities, body protein building, tissue regeneration and in metabolizing carbohydrates.

Tamanu Oil

Tamanu promotes the formation of new cell growth and the elimination of dead cells, thus accelerating wound healing. Tamanu is also known to possess anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and antimicrobial properties. Tamanu should be considered as the carrier oil of choice when working with eczema or psoriasis, burns, acne, dry or scaly skin, diaper rash, diabetic ulcers and in relieving pain from sciatica, shingles, and arthritis.

Although tamanu oil is thick and dark in color, when applied to the skin it is readily absorbed and leaves no oily residue.

Tamanu oil is made by pressing the fruit of the Calophyllum tree which grows in eastern Africa and southeast Asia. To create tamanu butter, coconut oil is whipped into the oil, creating a moisturizing solid butter. It has virtually no odor and an off-white color.

Ionic Foot Bath

By Brad Noall

What is it?

For as long as I can remember there has been an interest in detoxifying and cleansing our bodies. One of the modalities that have made its way into the healing world is the Ionic Foot Bath. In a nutshell, you soak your feet in a tub of fresh water with an ionic array in it and when done the water has changed to a gross black color, full of metals, toxins, and yucky stuff from your body. Apparently, this mustered a controversy of course from the medical world which is to expected because of the lack of education on this modality on their part.

The Technical stuff and how it works

This modality uses a tub of water for your feet, an array made of ceramic plates, copper, titanium or other conductive metals connect to a controller box with a power supply. The water will have a small amount of sea salt to act as a conductor, and then the array is placed in the water. A program from the controller is running that charges the array. Here is where the magic begins. The array produces +and -Ions that create a change in our bodies. A couple of things happen at this point. The ionic charge in the water circulates through you creating an ionic field throughout your body, charging every cell with + and – ions. This attempts to create a state of homeostasis (or balance). In doing so, this allows our body to release the toxins that have stored at a cellular level.

But where do they go?

They are released into the blood stream so the bodies can get rid of them through natural means of cleansing. Then a second thing occurs. The array, through its charge, attracts the poisons, toxins and heavy metals from our blood stream, through our capillaries, out the pores and sweat glands in our feet into the water. The array attracts the toxins and metals similar to a magnet, as they build upon the range, they fleck off into the water and create unusual colors of black, brown, green, orange, and white yuck!

There have been many studies showing an increase of metals in the water after a 30-minute foot soak. Although without your feet in the tub, the water will make some changes, this is caused by several factors. Water will separate with any electrical charge. Also, toxins, chemicals, and metals in the water create some visual changes. Needless to say, there is a considerable difference when your feet are in the water letting us know that this change is coming out of our bodies.

What is it used for and it benefits?

We could talk all day about testimonials and advantages of the soak, but we will just highlight a couple. One of the primary uses of the Ionic soak is to pull heavy metals out of the body that stores at a cellular level. Another is for Lactic acid build up, also Candida yeast control and unwanted medication storage in our bodies. We find it very beneficial to use this modality with other healing methods like Chiropractics, acupuncture, energy work and foot zone therapy to name a few.

How we use it

As for me and my wife, Sue we are foot zoners and instructors by trade, we implement this therapy as requested. We have found it extremely beneficial to soak clients before a foot zone. The ionic charge through the body helps open up the energy signals that we work with, aiding in the detoxification of the body and helping clear some stubborn signals. We also find it more beneficial to foot zone after the ionic soak, because it balances any possible side effects that may occur from the detox.

The precautions are similar to any other modality of cleansing. Pregnancy, nursing mothers should be avoided. Severely toxic, malnutrition or unhealthy people and should always use caution. There are many different types of Ionic Foot Bath systems on the market. Some people use the older technology, and some use the more modern. We use the Erochonia EB 305. Either way, detoxification at any level has shown significant benefits.
