It moderates our need for the attention and approval of others. Sometimes, in our zeal to keep those around us safe and happy, we have a tendency to become overly controlling. LeEnergy can help us temper these tendencies with a dose of reality. Energy in the solar plexus chakra manifests as vitality and radiance. When we are balanced and energized here, we have such a giving spirit that we are almost magnetically attractive to other people. We will be very much liked and loved by all, and we will be more effective in our parental and leadership roles.

EMOTIONAL / SPIRITUAL / MENTAL ASPECTS: Each of the five blends contained in LeEverlasting is in the mid to very high frequency range. Each one targets a specific range of emotions. Blending these five blends together into another essential oil blend is an amazing example of synergy. LeEverlasting is a lower frequency (physical range) blend which displays the ability to act on the emotions. A person using LeEverlasting receives the emotional impact of each separate high frequency blend. At the same time, the lower frequency of the whole carries the healing more deeply into the physical body. The negative emotions are released clear down to the cellular level.

Foot Zone Therapy
By Sharon Moran

May is Foot Zone Month! In light of that, we thought we would give you a brief history of foot zone therapy as well as some information about the healing benefits of it.

Charles Ersdal could be considered the "Father of Modern Foot Zone Therapy". He was born in Norway in 1939. At a relatively young age he suffered a serious stroke which paralyzed his left side. While seeking help through alternative methods for his paralysis Ersdal found a chiropractor who had been trained in reflexology. During the next two years his paralysis was completely cured.

With the advent of this miraculous cure, Ersdal changed his life's path and began to study anatomy, physiology, homeopathy, acupuncture and reflexology. The more Ersdal was exposed to reflexology he pondered why it worked sometimes and why sometimes it didn't have the same result he had experienced. He had had such an amazing recovery through reflexology he wanted to be able to provide that healing benefit for everyone. He was determined to find the missing link which would prove beneficial for everyone.

Receiving input through a dream, Ersdal was able to "map" the 3-dimensional body on the feet. He began mapping the spine, internal organs and body systems. This "mapping" created a series of flows and blood supplies as well as the reflex points used by reflexologists. Ersdal began teaching his advanced technique of foot zone therapy in 1975 in Norway. He continued to research and fine tune his technique, eventually writing an extensive teaching manual entitled "The Complete Treatment System".

In 1989 Ersdal began teaching his first class in the United States. Speaking limited English, he worked through a translator. By 1991 the first class of foot zone practitioners graduated and began spreading the work and word of foot zone therapy.

So what is the difference between foot zoning and reflexology? Foot zoning has a complete protocol which needs to be performed, in a specific order, on both feet, during each session. Emphasis is placed not only on the signals for each organ or body system, but also on the blood supplies to those tissues and organs. Repeated performances of this protocol allows the entire body to strengthen at its own speed and in its own specific order and priority.

Foot zone therapy follows specific "signals" in a given order, helping to treat the whole person rather than focusing on specific systems. Manipulation of these signals through various kinds of pressure and techniques can open the pathways to health. The body begins to work together and as the "dots" are connected, the energy of the body begins to heal and create a healthier body, both physically and emotionally.

Our bodies, our minds and our emotions are all linked. A good foot zone can help us access our deepest emotions as well as our physical imbalances. The use of essential oils before, during and after a zone can help us right those imbalances and improve our overall health.

What improvements can you expect to see from a foot zone? The following is a list of some of the improvements that are often seen following a foot zone. The benefits affect every body system and function within the body. A foot zone can help to make the body "whole" again.

*Increased energy levels and improved alertness
*Increased circulation
*Improvements in digestive function and health
*Improved uptake of nutrients and removal of cellular waste
*Improvement in hormone production and balance
*Better lymphatic circulation and drainage
*A stronger and more appropriately responsive immune system
*Healthier cells, tissues, organs, and nerves
*Faster and better recovery from illness and injury
*An improvement in inflammation and pain throughout the body
*Better mobility or joints and muscles
*Improved sleep habits, less dreaming
*Removal of toxins from the cells and organs of the body
*Improved emotional and nervous system stability
*Improvements in mental and spiritual perspective
*Improved resilience and ability to cope with stress
*Improvement in the functioning of the body's electrical and energy based systems

There are a few times when a foot zone may not be indicated. The following is a list of some cautions and contraindications associated with a foot zone.

*Radiation and/or chemotherapy, drugs (both prescription and street drugs), alcohol abuse: Because the liver picks up toxic substances, and because the zone can release these toxins, caution should be used when zoning a person receiving these kinds of therapies or with a history of abuse.

*Trauma, accident, injury or recent surgery: A foot zone always improves circulation. This can be a good thing for the healing process following injuries involving bruising but not no so good for cuts, wounds and surgeries. Most experienced zone therapists recommend waiting 6 weeks following a surgery or an injury where bleeding, internal or external, was experienced and might be reawakened by a zone treatment.

*Foreign objects within the body: Following a foot zone treatment, the body attempts to return to as normal a state of homeostasis as possible. A finely turned energy and immune system is better able to differentiate between what is "self" and what is "other" and may attempt to rid the body of these foreign objects. This might include metal rods, plates, screws or pins, IUD's, breast implants and surgical or supportive mesh. Also consider the presence of more serious implants such as pacemakers, transplanted organs, shunts and stints. *Blood clots: Setting a blood clot in motion before it has been dissolved by herbal or energy methods could have serious consequences. Since a foot zone increases circulation, communication between foot zonist and client should reflect any reason why a blood clot might be suspected. Who can be foot zoned? Anybody can benefit from a foot zone (with the above list considered, of course). Small children and infants all the way up to the elderly can be safely zoned. Every age can receive an improvement in their health from a foot zone. How often should you get zoned? The decision on how frequently to be zoned is a personal one. Often times a weekly zone can make improvements to health. For some people, once a month or every 6 weeks is often enough. The bottom line is "GET A ZONE". It is an excellent modality to access and improve your overall health and well being!

(Melaleuca viridiflora: also known as quinquenervia)

EMOTIONAL / SPIRITUAL / MENTAL ASPECTS: Niaouli is said to open the inner vision of the soul and direct our thoughts toward heaven. Niaouli can help us focus on higher values and more worthy goals. Niaouli can help us see the bigger picture of our lives and find those things that we were born to do.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS: Niaouli has been shown in studies to be a general immune system booster and effective as a response to allergic reactions. This oil is an excellent antiseptic for treating pulmonary infections, bronchitis, coughs, sinus congestion, and sore throats. The anti-inflammatory properties of this oil make it useful for muscle aches. Naiouli, being a member of the tea tree family, is very antiseptic. It is useful for skin conditions such as cuts, boils, burns, insect bites, and acne.

Carrot Seed Helps fortify those who are feeling weak, inefficient, or disorganized. This oil is well suited to impractical dreamers. Carrot seed can give focus and energy to those who procrastinate projects because we don't want to put forth the necessary hard work or mental effort.

Dill The autonomic nervous system controls such things as heartbeat, the function of our kidneys, the flow of hormones, and blood pressure. We have been taught that we have no conscious control of these functions. Studies and common sense both indicate that this is not entirely true. For example, army snipers are taught to mentally slow their pulse and heartbeat and sharpen the acuity of their vision as they prepare to make their shots. In the nerves and impulses of this area of the nervous system, dill brings sustenance, strength, and calmness.

Lavender Can be used for nearly all skin conditions. It can be applied to cuts, sunburns, burns, rashes, dermatitis, eczema, and insect bites. Consistent use of lavender with burns and injuries minimizes scarring. Lavender, usually as part of a blend, is often used to prevent or remedy conditions of dandruff and hair loss. Lavender is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, cytophylactic, and antispasmodic, making it effective for muscle strains and sprains, cramps, and wound healing.

Lemongrass The aroma of lemongrass awakens curiosity. It encourages us to go outside our usual boundaries and comfort zones. Lemongrass should be used to cleanse your energy system when you have been in negative situations or around negative people. Lemongrass can give us energy and reawakens compassion following emotional overload or collapse.

Lemon Myrtle Helps boost the body's natural defenses and immune system. It is also a very powerful purifying agent due to its high citral content. The citral content of lemon myrtle essential oil is 95% compared to 5% in lemon essential and 65% in lemongrass. The antibacterial and germicidal activity of lemon myrtle oil has been tested to be more effective at killing germs than tea tree oil. This makes it excellent oil for your homemade cleaning products.

Rosewood Blend Rosewood's action on the central nervous system can help us balance our emotions, maintaining evenness of mood instead of wide fluctuations from moment to moment. Rosewood is an excellent choice for grief of all kinds. It helps us notice and respond to the loving strength of those around us until we are able to respond again with love of our own. Rosewood helps us move past the grief, and sometimes the anger, of our losses and find the good memories and the love that we once felt.

When you take the time to cleanse your physical body of accumulated stress and toxicity, you are rewarded with increased vitality and optimal health.
