The symptom picture is what you would expect with an onion—cold like symptoms from either a cold or a seasonal allergy. (A word of warning here: overuse of this remedy for colds and allergies may suppress the minor annoying symptoms while they develop into asthma.) Setting up this energetic asthma picture takes serious over dosing, but the possibility needs to be mentioned. Allium cepa, while an excellent “acute” remedy, needs to be followed by a deeper acting remedy once the acute symptoms have been relieved!
KEYNOTES: profuse watery discharge from nose—like a faucet; hay fever made worse from flowers and warm rooms; is mostly on the left side; worse in the evening; headache aggravated by closing the eyes.
