One of the major areas of action of this remedy is in the lungs and throat. Description of symptoms include sudden contraction of the glottis, making swallowing and exhaling nearly impossible; severe chest pains when coughing or sneezing; spasmodic cough; whooping cough; violent, suffocative, nervous cough that is worse at night or when attempting to talk; cough with vomiting after eating. Symptoms also include great hunger alternating with absence of appetite and painful weariness and desire to sleep after a meal.
