Strychninum
(Strychnine)
Murphy’s materia medica quotes both Cooper and Clarke as saying that “many cases of persistent cough recurring after influenza are met by Strychninum. The influenza cough has in it a strong spasmodic and asthmatic element, whether dry or not.” Panic attacks; full and bursting headache with heat in the eyes; vertigo with roaring in the ears; very obstinate constipation; itching of whole body, especially nose; constant vomiting; nausea of pregnancy.
KEYNOTES:Pain and sensations come on suddenly and return at intervals; spasmodic rigidity of muscles; rigidity of the back, particularly the cervical area.
SANKARAN MENTALS: Suddenly being torn into little pieces. Acute sensation, rather than chronic.
