Fatigue #1
POTENCY: 6X
The following is a small amount of information on each of the INGREDIENTS of this combination.
ARSENICUM ALBUM (white oxide of arsenic) Arsenicum is a very deep-acting remedy, affecting every organ and tissue in some way. Arsenicum also acts on the nerves. A keynote of Arsenicum is sudden great weakness from trivial causes, shortness of breath, and being extremely nervous and restless. Arsenicum is particularly strengthening to the muscles, nerves, lungs, and digestive systems and is a polycrest for influenza, food poisoning, and many other things. This is a remedy with which everyone should be familiar as it will be needed by every person more than once in their lives.
ECHINACEA ANGUSTIFOLIA/PURPUREA (purple coneflower) Echincea treats blood poisoning and septicemia from a cut, wound, surgery, or childbirth. Listless feeling that is worse in the evening, with weakness felt in stomach, bowels, heart, and knees. Vertigo accompanies the symptoms and there is slowness in every action and even in the speech. Echinacea, in both herbal and homeopathic form, is considered a support to the immune system and is said to bring relief from the effects of vaccinations and chemical toxins.
FERRUM PHOSPHORICUM (iron phosphate) Ferrum phos is a remedy for anemia, recovery from hemorrhage (I have seen this impressive thing personally), venous disorders, debility, weakness, and the early stages of any inflammatory disorder. Ferrum phos is said to increase hemoglobin production and the absorption of iron.
GELSEMIUM SEMPERVIRENS (yellow jasamine) Gelsemium is a remedy with a strong affinity for the recovery stages of illnesses and for fatigue and illness that is brought on by anxiety, anticipation, fear, or bad news. Some keynote symptoms are muscular weakness and paralysis, aching all over, poor circulation, dizziness, drowsiness, trembling, apathy, and one pupil dilated and the other contracted (may indicate something amiss in the brain).
The symptoms of Gelsemium may go as deep as complete prostration both mentally and physically. Gelsemium is a polycrest remedy. There are pages and pages of symptom descriptions other than the ones reported here having to do with fatigue.
MEDICAGO SATIVA (alfalfa) (For some strange reason this is NOT listed by Latin name in Murphy’s Materia Medica but rather is listed as Alfalfa). Favorably influences nutrition and the uptake of vitamins and minerals which results in improved mental and physical vigor. Alfalfa is also listed as a remedy to help with hypoglycemia—weak and shaky if food is not taken about every 3 hours, as well as weak kidneys with frequent urge to urinate.
PHOSPHORICUM ACIDUM (phosphoric acid) Phosphoricum acidum is specific for conditions from a weakened immune system brought on by an acute illness, loss of vital fluids, or by grief and loss. Symptoms include debility, exhaustion, emaciation, the fatigue of a chronic and continual nature, hair loss, mental debility followed by physical debility, wants nothing and likes nothing, and very sleepy during the day with the weakness being a little bit better for a short nap.
SCUTELLARIA LATERIFOLIA (skullcap) A man named Hale, who introduced Scutellaria to the homeopathic world, said that “Its calming effects on the nervous system have been known ever since the settlement of New England.” This remedy is excellent for tiredness and weakness of whatever cause, cardiac irritability, inability to concentrate on study or work, dull frontal headache, a migraine that is worse over the right eye, explosive headaches, and restless and unrefreshing sleep.
