Glandular Support #3

POTENCY: 9X

The following is a small amount of information on each of the INGREDIENTS of this combination.

ALUMINUM SILICATA (aluminum silicate) This is a deep acting remedy for croup in the lower portion of the larynx and the upper part of the trachea, lung problems with coughing of much mucus, and chronic complaints of brain, spinal cord, and nerves.

AVENA SATIVA (oatstraw) Avena improves the uptake of the nutrients needed by the brain and nervous system and is one of the best tonics for recovery from a debilitating illness. Sleeplessness with nervous exhaustion is a keynote and mental exertion always aggravates the symptoms until recovery is complete.

CHELIDONIUM MAJUS (greater celandine) Chelidonium is a major liver and gallbladder remedy. Symptoms include gallbladder pains, liver-related headaches—frontal and sometimes centered over the right eye, nausea, vomiting, and jaundice due to hepatic and gallbladder obstruction.

CRATAEGUS OXYACANTHA (hawthorn berries) Crataegus is placed in this combination because it is a great heart tonic and blood pressure stabilizer. It is useful for insomnia and certain types of nausea.

EQUISETUM HYEMALE (horse-tail) The major focus of this remedy is for support of the urinary tract. Symptoms include profuse urination of clear and watery urine or the opposite, less common, the situation of urine that is cloudy and filled with mucus and albumin.

LOBELIA INFLATA (indian tobacco) Lobelia, as an herb, has a long and interesting history. (See the story of Samuel Thompson in Butterfly Miracles with Herbal Remedies for the whole story.) This great herbalist described Lobelia (the herb) as the greatest remedy of which he made use in his practice. Homeopathically, Lobelia is a vasomotor stimulant and increases the activity of all body processes with a particular emphasis on the pneumogastric nerve.

NICCOLUM CARBONICUM (nickel metal) Niccolum carb is for periodic headaches of very severe and intense nature, swollen glands with the glands in the throat sore to external touch, and coughs which bring on dizziness or convulsion—the person must be held sitting up to avoid this. Mental/emotional symptoms include becoming angry if contradicted and just plain quarrelsome most of the time.

Some issues and symptoms (only a few of the many) include prickling and itching all over body with nausea, issues from clogged mucus—such as occur in the sinuses, ears, heart and lungs, headache with vertigo, and great chilliness. Lobelia is specific for conditions that “drag on”—never quite allowing the person to return to full health and vigor.
