The following is a small amount of information on each of the INGREDIENTS of this combination.
FOENICULUM SATIVUM (fennel) This is another remedy whose information in the medicas is based on the herbal uses of the plant. The action of this remedy is milder on the stomach than cumin or dill but is more relaxing to the digestive tract overall. Foeniculum sativum is useful for stomach cramps, flatulence, and many types of diarrhea.
MENTHA PIPERITA (peppermint) With Mentha piperita indigestion is most often seen in the evening two hours after dinner. There is weight in the stomach that extends into the ears, flatulence, and a lot of stomach pains. Mental symptoms include mental dullness when rising early with the opposite, a more balanced pattern of waking up eager for work and being extraordinarily productive and effective.
NEPETA CATARIA (catnip) Nepeta is a diaphoretic, tonic, antispasmodic, diuretic, and carminative. Because it produces free perspiration it is useful for many types of toxic and infectious situations. Symptoms include abdominal pain, colic, diarrhea, flatulence, cramps, and indigestion. Children become fretful and irritable from the pain of indigestion.
